La b\u00fasqueda del color por parte de la humanidad se remonta a tiempos prehist\u00f3ricos; hace m\u00e1s de 60.000 a\u00f1os, ya se utilizaba el ocre natural como material colorante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estructuralmente, los pigmentos consisten en diminutas part\u00edculas coloreadas formadas por mol\u00e9culas con estructuras cristalinas espec\u00edficas. Las pinturas rupestres de hace decenas de miles de a\u00f1os ya empleaban materiales naturales como el carb\u00f3n vegetal, el ocre, el marr\u00f3n de manganeso y el caol\u00edn. Alrededor del a\u00f1o 2000 a.C., la gente empez\u00f3 a cocer minerales naturales mezclados con mineral de manganeso para producir tonos rojos, morados y negros para la cer\u00e1mica. El orpimento y la orpimentita fueron los primeros pigmentos amarillos intensos, mientras que el azul ultramar y el azul egipcio representaron los primeros tonos azules. Los verdes se obten\u00edan del verdigr\u00eds y la malaquita. El Renacimiento trajo consigo nuevos avances, como la introducci\u00f3n del carm\u00edn de M\u00e9xico en Europa, seguida de la aparici\u00f3n del azul de cobalto y del vidrio azul cobalto. A partir del siglo XVIII, aparecieron gradualmente pigmentos producidos industrialmente como el azul de Prusia, el azul de cobalto y el amarillo de cromo. En el siglo XIX se desarrollaron el verde de cromo, los pigmentos a base de \u00f3xido de hierro y los pigmentos a base de cadmio. En el siglo XX se aceler\u00f3 la investigaci\u00f3n y aparecieron los pigmentos rojos sint\u00e9ticos, el azul de manganeso, el rojo de molibdeno y los \u00f3xidos mixtos a base de bismuto. Al mismo tiempo, los pigmentos blancos, como el di\u00f3xido de titanio rutilo y anatasa y el \u00f3xido de zinc en forma de aguja, ganaron importancia, junto con los pigmentos de efecto que producen colores met\u00e1licos, nacarados y de interferencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Principales aplicaciones de los pigmentos<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los pigmentos se utilizan ampliamente en diversas industrias, como revestimientos, pl\u00e1sticos, caucho, cosm\u00e9ticos, textiles, cer\u00e1mica y coloraci\u00f3n art\u00edstica del cemento. Sus aplicaciones siguen ampli\u00e1ndose a nuevos campos como la cosm\u00e9tica, la alimentaci\u00f3n, los adhesivos y la copia electrost\u00e1tica. grandes rasgos en tres categor\u00edas principales: pigmentos org\u00e1nicos, pigmentos inorg\u00e1nicos y pigmentos de efecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- Pigmentos org\u00e1nicos: <\/strong>Entre ellos se encuentran los pigmentos azoicos, los pigmentos polic\u00edclicos y los complejos met\u00e1licos, entre otros, y pueden subdividirse en funci\u00f3n de su estructura
