A differenza dei pigmenti organici, i loro componenti principali derivano da sostanze inorganiche, che ne determinano le propriet\u00e0 fisiche e chimiche uniche. La tabella seguente si basa sul sistema raccomandato da ISO e DIN. Questo sistema si basa su considerazioni di colore e chimiche.
