Distributeurs volgen op <strong>14 februari 2027<\/strong>, waarna nagelstylistes in Groot-Brittanni\u00eb geen nieuwe voorraad meer mogen kopen die het ingredi\u00ebnt bevat - hoewel producten die al in voorraad zijn nog wel gebruikt mogen worden.<\/p><h2 id=\"what-is-tpo\">Wat is TPO en waarom wordt het verboden?<\/h2><p>Trimethylbenzoyl difenylfosfine oxide (TPO) is een fotoinitiator die gellak hard maakt onder UV- en LED-lampen. In 2023 classificeerde de Europese Commissie het als een CMR-stof van categorie 1B - vermoedelijk reproductietoxisch op basis van dierstudies. Het EU-verbod ging in op 1 september 2025; het Verenigd Koninkrijk, dat nu na de Brexit zijn eigen regelgevingskader heeft, stelde zijn eigen gespreide deadline vast.<\/p><p>De Amerikaanse Food and Drug Administration heeft geen verbod uitgevaardigd, hoewel sommige Amerikaanse merken vrijwillig hun samenstelling aanpassen om \u00e9\u00e9n enkele wereldwijde productlijn te behouden.<\/p><h2 id=\"brands\">Reacties op merken<\/h2><p>The GelBottle Inc. verklaarde dat zijn volledige EU-assortiment al 100% TPO-vrij is en dat zijn assortimenten in het VK en de VS op schema liggen voor volledige overgang v\u00f3\u00f3r de deadline van september 2026. Glossify bevestigde eveneens dat het bezig is met de herformulering. Chemistry World meldde dat merken sinds de EU aankondiging van mei 2024 voldoende tijd hebben gehad om alternatieven te ontwikkelen.<\/p><p>De primaire vervangende fotoinitiatoren zijn TPO-L (ethyltrimethylbenzoylfenylfosfinaat) en BAPO (bisacylfosfineoxide), die beide voldoen aan de huidige veiligheidsbeoordelingen van de EU en het VK.<\/p><h2 id=\"salons\">Wat saloneigenaren nu moeten doen<\/h2><p>BABTAC beveelt een onmiddellijke inventariscontrole aan: controleer elk productetiket op \u201cTrimethylbenzoyl difenylfosfine oxide\u201d in de INCI-lijst.
