How to Do the Windmill Nail Art at Home?

This tutorial will show you how to create a playful dopamine-inspired mini windmill nail art design. Through step-by-step instructions, you’ll learn to use color combinations and detailed shaping to achieve a lively and adorable nail art effect. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Make the base color block for the windmill

Prepare the coloring paper, take the pink gel polish, and use a brush to evenly apply it to the coloring paper to form a square color block. When applying, make sure the edges are neat and the thickness is even. Then place it under the nail lamp to dry, allowing the color block to set initially, providing the base material for making the windmill blades.

Step 2: Overlay colorful small color blocks

After the pink base color block has dried, select blue, yellow, green, and pink gel polish in order, and paint smaller square color blocks inside the large pink square color block.

Maintain appropriate spacing between each small color block, and ensure the fullness and smoothness of the color blocks during the painting process. After completion, place it under a UV/LED lamp again to dry, allowing the colorful small color blocks to adhere firmly to the base color blocks.

Step 3: Shape the windmill prototype

Take the mold glue and apply it evenly to the surface of the completed multicolored block area. Immediately place it under the nail lamp to dry, allowing the mold glue to fully cure.

Once the mold glue has dried, carefully remove it from the coloring paper with tweezers. Then use scissors to cut the removed color blocks into smaller squares.

Cut along the diagonal again, but make sure the middle part is connected to form the rough shape of the windmill blade.

Step 4: Assemble the windmill shape

Apply a small amount of glue to the center of the cut-out windmill shape, then glue the four cut corners to the center at a certain angle to form a windmill shape.

After applying the adhesive, place a small bead at the center of the windmill and place it back under the nail lamp to dry, allowing the adhesive and bead to set completely. At this point, the main body of the windmill is complete.

Step 5: Base Coat Application

Take the nail tip and apply a base coat using pink gel polish. After the first coat, place it under the nail lamp to dry. Once dry, apply a second coat to ensure the base coat is saturated and even, then dry it again to make the base coat durable and colorful.

Step 6: Draw decorative elements on the nail tips

Dip a dot pen into white gel polish and randomly draw on the surface of the nail tips to create cloud shapes.

Next, apply a few small white dots in appropriate places on the nail plate as decoration. You can also draw decorative elements such as stars according to your personal preference. After completing the design, place it under a nail lamp to dry and fix the decorative pattern.

Step 7: Install the windmill axle

Select a suitable axle decoration and use tweezers to stick it to the pre-planned position on the nail plate surface. After sticking it, place it under a nail lamp to dry and ensure that the axle is firmly attached to the nail plate, preparing for the subsequent installation of the windmill.

Step 8: Nail plate sealing treatment

Take the sealing glue and apply it evenly to the entire surface of the nail plate, making sure to cover all areas and apply an even thickness. Then place it under the nail lamp to dry. Apply the glue for attaching rhinestones to the back of the windmill.

Use tweezers to precisely attach the windmill to the rotating shaft of the nail plate, then place it under a nail lamp to dry. Once the windmill is securely in place, select the windmill rod decoration and attach it to the corresponding position on the nail plate. Place it under the nail lamp to dry again, ensuring that both the windmill and wind rod are firmly secured to the nail plate.

After completing the above steps, you will have created a fun and creative dopamine pinwheel nail art design.
