Want to create stunningly clear and beautiful ice flower nails? Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the process—even beginners can master it with ease.
Step 1: Base Coat and White Gradient Foundation
Apply a base coat to the entire nail. Do not cure under the lamp at this stage.
Next, take the white gradient solution and randomly dab it onto the nail surface.
Next, use the diluting solution to gently blend the white gradient liquid onto the nail surface using a dotting technique, then cure under the lamp. This step creates an initial hazy texture on the nail surface, laying the foundation for subsequent layers.
Step 2: Layering Blue Gradient
Continue blending the translucent blue gel polish randomly across the nail surface (using CHROMÉCLAIR’s Hema Free Gel Polish CR-11 in this tutorial—it offers excellent transparency, smooth flow, and long-lasting color retention). After blending, cure under a UV/LED lamp.
Next, apply the glass gel, layer it again for blending, and cure under the lamp. The combination of translucent blue and glass gel enhances the nail surface’s translucency while adding visual depth.
Step 3: Floral and Detail Painting
Use white nail art gel to paint floral shapes onto the nail surface, then cure under the lamp.
Once the floral shapes have set, overlay a translucent blue tint over the floral area and illuminate it again to blend the blooms into the ambient background.
Next, apply the second layer of petals using white acrylic paint.
After illuminating the design, use yellow to outline the flower center, then green to draw the leaves. Remember to illuminate the design after each step to ensure the pattern sets firmly.
Step 4: Create 3D Ice Flowers with Modeling Clay
Place an appropriate amount of modeling clay onto the nail surface. Gently press it with your fingers to form a shape that is thicker in the center and thinner at the edges.
Then use the pen tip to randomly poke at the modeling clay, creating a texture resembling ice crystals. Afterward, cure it under a lamp.
This step is key to achieving the “icy feel” of ice flower nails, with its unique texture giving the manicure a more tactile quality.
Step 5: Top Coat Finish
Finally, apply a thin layer of top coat over the entire nail. Cure under the lamp, and your frosted nail design is complete. The top coat not only extends the wear time of your manicure but also enhances overall shine, making the translucent effect stand out even more.
Follow these steps to create your own crystal-clear ice flower nails, effortlessly elevating your summer look.
