Get a Comic-style nail art- Manicure in 4 Easy Steps

Want to get the same manicure as the main character in the manga? No need to envy the agility of anime characters’ fingertips. Today, we’ll teach you how to create a manga-style manicure with a built-in 2D filter.

Preparation

Prepare base gel, solid color gel polish (this time we used CHROMÉCLAIR’s Hema Free Gel Polish SR series, which is very suitable for this style, has good fluidity, and is easy for beginners to apply evenly), black decorative gel, a line drawing pen, a nail lamp, a matte top coat, and other tools.

Specific steps

Step 1.  Base coat

Take an appropriate amount of base coat and apply it evenly to the nail tip. Place it under a nail lamp to dry. This step is to help the gel polish adhere better and prolong the life of the manicure.

Select your preferred solid-color gel polish (such as the light blue used in the tutorial), apply a thin layer to the nail plate, and then place it under the nail lamp to dry. If the color saturation is insufficient, you can apply another layer after the first layer has dried.

Step 2. Outline the outer frame

Dip a liner pen in black paint and carefully draw a circle along the outer edge of the nail.

When applying the polish, pay attention to the smoothness of the lines, ensuring they are even and follow the contours of the nail. This step will give the manicure a comic-style “outline” texture, highlighting the shape of the nail.

Step 3. Draw a heart and add details

Dip your brush in yellow gel polish and draw a heart in the center of your nail. Start by dotting two close circles,

Then use a pen to draw arcs connecting them into a heart shape, making the heart full and cute.

Dip the retractable pen in black paint and outline the yellow heart you have drawn to make the outline clearer.

Next, use black paint glue to draw some lines around the nail surface to enrich the overall design.

Dip a fine line pen into gray gel polish and draw highlights and shadows in appropriate places inside the heart.

Use gray to create light and dark transitions, giving the heart a more three-dimensional feel and a lively, hand-drawn comic book style effect.

Step 4. Sealing and Setting

Finally, apply a matte sealant and place the nail tips under a nail lamp to dry. Once dry, the nails will have a frosted finish, giving the manga-style nail art a unique look while also protecting the previously drawn patterns and increasing durability.

Follow these steps to create a simple yet adorable comic-style manicure. Go ahead and try creating your own unique manicure!
