How to Do the Aurora Ice Manicure at Home?

Hello everyone! I’m a star employee at CHROMÉCLAIR, a brand of hematologic-free gel polish.

Today I bring you a super eye-catching aurora ice manicure tutorial. The steps are clear, and it breaks down step by step from the base to the finishing, so that you can easily have beautiful manicures with changing colors. Hurry and follow it!

Step 1: Primer and Color

– Apply a powder-coating primer evenly to the nail surface. Dry under a UV/LED lamp. This step will help the subsequent gold powder adhere better and prevent it from fading.

– Take out the golden magic mirror powder and special sponge stick, dip the sponge stick in a small amount of gold powder, and gently press it on the nail surface.

After pressing, use a clean soft-bristled brush to gently sweep away the loose powder on the surface along the direction of nail growth, so that the nail surface feels smooth and free of particles, presenting a delicate “liquid metal” texture.

Step 2: Apply the laser cellophane

·Prepare laser cellophane of various sizes. Use scissors to cut the cellophane into a suitable shape based on your nail size (e.g., a square 1/3 the size of your nail, or a long strip that follows the curve of your nail bed).

· Take the transparent reinforcing glue, pick up the laser cellophane with tweezers, dip one side in the glue (or apply it on the nail surface), place the cellophane in the middle of the nail surface, press gently to ensure that the cellophane fits the nail surface completely without bubbles or wrinkles.

Step 3: Filling Gaps and Sealing the Edges

– After applying the cellophane, you may notice small gaps around the edges, or the joint between the cellophane and the nail may not be smooth. In this case, take a small amount of clear reinforcing glue and use a fine-tipped brush to carefully fill the gaps around the cellophane, allowing the glue to penetrate. Also, apply a thin layer of glue around the edges of the cellophane.

– After filling, immediately put the nail into the light therapy machine to dry. This step not only allows the cellophane to be firmly fixed on the nail surface, but also prevents the edge of the cellophane from being caught on hair or clothes, making the manicure more durable.

Step 4: Topcoat for Reinforcement + 3D Shaping

· First, apply a layer of super-shine, no-wash topcoat to the entire nail. Apply evenly from the base of the nail to the fingertips, being careful to avoid the skin and nail grooves. Once dry, the nail surface will be instantly brighter, and the rainbow effect of the laser cellophane will be more pronounced.

· The last step is to create an “ice cube effect”: take a transparent embossing glue with a higher viscosity (or hard sealant), dip a drill pen in an appropriate amount of glue, and gently squeeze out a small circle in the middle of the nail surface (about 1/4 of the diameter of the nail). Then use the drill pen to gently press the top of the circle to adjust it into a “hemispherical shape” (similar to the curvature of a small ice cube or a small gem), dry it under a UV/LED lamp, and allow the three-dimensional shape to completely solidify.

· After drying, use an alcohol cotton pad to wipe off the remaining glue on the nail surface. An aurora ice manicure with “rainbow reflection” + “three-dimensional gem” is completed. It can reflect pink, purple, blue, green and other colors when viewed from different angles. It is super eye-catching!

Conclusion:

The finished laser colored ice manicure is not only vibrant and varied in color, but also has a high-quality texture. It’s perfect with anything from casual wear to a mini dress! After following the steps, remember to avoid scratching hard objects with your nails to help your manicure last longer.
