Start with a small amount of powder on a clean palette, mix thoroughly, test the reflection and add more only if you want a stronger flash. There is no single mandatory ratio: the changing intensity is part of the DIY result.

Before You Mix
Prepare and cure a separate base layer first. Mix only the amount needed for the current manicure and use it immediately. Do not return mixed material to the original gel bottle or powder jar, and keep uncured gel away from skin and cuticles.
Route 1: Mix Magnetic Powder with Solid Color Gel
Scegliere un Solid Color Gel as the carrier and background. Place a small amount on the palette, add a little Magnetic Powder and mix until the powder is evenly dispersed. Apply one thin layer, hold the magnet above the uncured gel until the light band forms, and cure immediately according to the Solid Color label.
Route 2: Mix Magnetic Powder with Base Gel
First apply and cure an independent base layer on the natural nail. On the palette, mix Magnetic Powder with compatible Base Gel. Apply the mixture as the effect layer, shape it with the magnet before curing, and cure according to the Base Gel label. The mixture does not replace the separate base layer underneath.
Route 3: Mix Magnetic Powder with Top Gel
Apply and cure your prepared color first. Mix Magnetic Powder with compatible Top Gel, apply a thin layer, shape the reflection while uncured and cure it. If you want an additional clear gloss layer, apply and cure another Top Gel coat when the product instructions allow it.

Create Your Own Magnetic Gel Effect
Magnetic powder lets you vary the reflective effect yourself. Mix it with a compatible solid color, base gel, or top gel, shape the uncured layer with a magnet, then cure it under a UV/LED nail lamp.

How Much Magnetic Powder Should You Add?
Begin with a small amount and increase gradually. Less powder creates a softer, more transparent reflection; more powder creates a stronger magnetic flash. Stop adding powder while the mixture still spreads smoothly in a thin layer. If a test layer wrinkles, stays soft or cures unevenly, remove it and remake the mixture with less powder and a thinner application.
When to Use the Magnet
Use the magnet before curing. Hold it approximately 2–3 mm above the uncured surface without touching the gel, wait for the reflection to move into the desired position, and cure immediately so the pattern does not disperse.
Curing the Mixture
The carrier gel controls the lamp and cure time. Follow the Solid Color, Base or Top Gel label rather than using one universal time for every mixture. Use a full-size compatible UV/LED nail lamp unless the carrier label specifically supports another device.
Troubleshooting
- Weak reflection: move the magnet closer without touching the gel, or add a little more powder.
- Reflection spreads before curing: cure immediately after creating the pattern.
- Mixture feels thick: remake it with less powder; do not compensate with a thicker coat.
- Wrinkling or soft gel: remove the layer, reduce the powder, apply more thinly and verify lamp compatibility.
